Dietary cookbooks usually have nutritional information with each recipe....there were none in this book. I venture to say many people with gout have other health issues as well - my hubby certainly does. I purchased Jodi's books one and two at the same time: I found one recipe in both books by chance, so started comparing the two indexes. Just through the G's, I found several more. Not knowing what to expect for hubby's new diet situation, the recipes I've tried so far aren't bad and are a basic guide to help me convert my favorite recipes. One recipe I tried called for 2 whole eggs and 2 additional egg whites: instead I used the equivalent egg substitutes to equal three eggs. It worked for that recipe.

There is some good information. I had a second bout with gout, so I decided to get a book or cookbook to get more information.

Gout Hater's Cookbook series is a collection of books, approximately 100 pages each. 1/3 of the information in each book is redundant and cut and pasted frm book to book. Information is relatively outdated and the recipes are so simple that one does not need these books to find useful recipes. The price is outrageous. The entire series could have been collected in one small book that could be priced for less than $20.00. The author has taken advantage of the patinet's need for information and has made what would constitute a chapter into a book so that she could sell more books. Avoid buying these series. Use internet.
